Systems Engineer

CORTO is a rapidly growing Australian AI technology company. We are currently scaling from 80 to 150+ employees and operate with a highly technical workforce (90% developers and engineers).

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our lean, high-performing IT team. Our core premise is simple: we ensure everyone has what they need to work smartly and productively.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a 100% cloud-based environment (no on-premise legacy) where you will play a key role in designing and automating our infrastructure. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will bridge the gap between strategic infrastructure projects and day-to-day operations. You will own technical projects across our multi-tenant Microsoft 365 environment.

• Identity & Access Management: Implement and maintain Entra ID (P2) configurations, Conditional Access policies, and lead SSO implementations for 50+ SaaS apps.
• Endpoint Management: Manage 150+ endpoints (Windows & macOS) via Intune, including Autopilot and Apple Business Manager integration.
• Network & Email Security: Manage office networking infrastructure (Ubiquiti UniFi), oversee DNS management, and maintain email protection standards (Defender for Office 365, anti-phishing policies).
• Automation: Build automation workflows using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, and Power Automate to reduce manual tasks and handle rapid onboarding.
• Collaboration & Operations: Work closely with the IT Support Engineer to resolve daily technical issues and identify opportunities to automate repetitive support tasks.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain security baselines, manage DLP policies, and support SOC 2 compliance evidence collection.

You are a hands-on engineer who prioritizes practical solutions. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and understand that in a high-growth environment, you need to handle everything from high-level architecture to simple operational tasks-no task is too small if it helps the team.

• Experience: Minimum 4+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles.
• Cloud Native: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Cloud platforms (Entra ID, Intune, M365).
• Identity Expert: Strong knowledge of Entra ID, including Conditional Access, App Registrations, and ideally experience with multi-tenant architectures.
• Device Management: Proven experience managing Intune for both Windows and macOS devices at scale.
• Scripter: Advanced PowerShell skills. You know how to use the Microsoft Graph API to automate administrative tasks.
• Problem Solver: You take a pragmatic approach to technical challenges and can document your work clearly.

• CompTIA Network+ or equivalent networking certification.
• Microsoft Certifications (SC-300, MD-102, AZ-104).
• Knowledge of SOC 2 compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting developer-focused environments.
