Role Description
This is a full time, on site role for a Project Estimator located in Abu Dhabi. We are looking for a skilled Project Estimator to handle all estimation activities for our industrial projects in Refractories, Fireproofing, Insulation, and Acid Resistant (AR) Linings. The role involves detailed study of BOQs, drawings, plans, and specifications to produce accurate and competitive cost estimates for tenders and ongoing projects.
The Project Estimator will be responsible for preparing precise project cost estimates and budgets, analyzing project requirements, drafting detailed proposals, and collaborating with project teams. Additional responsibilities include evaluating project scopes, managing costs effectively, analyzing construction data, and maintaining strong communication with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Details of responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Refractories, Fireproofing, Insulation, and AR Lining works
- Review and analyze BOQs, IFC drawings, tender documents, plans, and technical specifications
- Perform accurate quantity take offs and material take offs
- Estimate labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead costs
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and operations teams for pricing and constructability inputs
- Identify scope gaps, risks, assumptions, exclusions, and value engineering opportunities
- Prepare bid summaries, pricing schedules, and commercial submissions
- Evaluate and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assist in post award budget handover and cost control support
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and market pricing
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, contract requirements, and UAE standards
- Expertise in Project Estimation and Construction Estimating
- Strong skills in Cost Management and Budgeting
- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project needs and costs
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and technology
- Educational background in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in construction or industrial projects is a strong advantage
- Ability to work effectively on site under deadlines and coordinate with diverse teams
Preferred qualifications & experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction related field (preferred)
- 3-7+ years of estimation experience in industrial or heavy construction projects
- Strong hands on experience with Refractories, Fireproofing, Insulation, and/or AR Linings
- Experience working on oil & gas, power, petrochemical, or industrial plant projects
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficient in MS Excel and estimating software (e.g., Candy, PlanSwift, Primavera, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Prior experience in the UAE or GCC region
- Familiarity with ADNOC, EPC contractors, and industrial shutdown/turnaround projects
- Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and coordination skills
