Do you love spending time outdoors and have a keen eye for gardening?
Warrnambool City Council is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Horticulture Trainee to gain hands on experience, while assisting with the maintenance of parks, gardens and recreational areas of the City.
The successful candidate will be afforded the opportunity to work alongside the Parks and Gardens crew while also studying a nationally recognised qualification.
- Assist in maintaining high profile areas in the CBD, Botanic Gardens and landscaped assets throughout the municipality.
- Knowledge of safe work practices.
- Passionate about working outdoors in the environment.
- Willingness to work across a range of areas in the Depot Operations as directed by the supervisor.
This is a fixed term temporary full time position for the period of the traineeship (2 years). Warrnambool City Council offers a salary in accordance with the National Training Wage Award.
Please note that enrolment in a Certificate III in Horticulture is a requirement of this traineeship, which will take part as part of your induction process. Upon successful completion of your six-month probationary period, you will be reimbursed for the associated course fees.
