Schedule: Daily 11a 9p 10-hour shifts
Setting: Emergency Department 25-bed hospital, Level IV Trauma (Provisional)

We are seeking an experienced Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a locum tenens assignment in Mt. Pleasant, MI. This role covers a recruitment gap in the Emergency Department. The provider will work autonomously but with a supervising ED physician always onsite for collaboration and consultation.

• Shift: Mid-level coverage, 11a 9p daily

• Support Staff: 1 FT NP + 2 PRN PAs (rotate coverage)

• Patient Volume: 20 per day

• Annual ED Volume: 20,000 visits

• Admissions: 8% of patients admitted daily

• Transfers: 2% daily

• Trauma: Provisional Level IV

• Deliveries: Yes >20 weeks with abdominal complaints seen in ED

• Ambulance: ED team monitors paramedics by radio (MMR transport)

• Specialties On Call: Orthopedics, OB, General Surgery, Neurology, Urology

• Diagnostics: 24/7 CT, MRI, X-ray, Laboratory, OR, and Blood Bank (AABB certified)

• EMR: Cerner

• Independently evaluate, treat, and stabilize ED patients

• Collaborate with supervising physician for higher-acuity cases

• Perform standard emergency procedures within NP/PA scope

• Participate in ED operations including patient flow and transfers

• Board-Certified NP or PA REQUIRED

• Michigan License + DEA REQUIRED

• Local providers only REQUIRED

• ACLS & PALS certifications REQUIRED

• Prior ED/acute care experience strongly preferred
